The Fund's Board examines the following opportunities for the fund´s first investments.
DO Toro Castilla y Leon
Private property of 82 hectares of which 22 planted in majority with 50+ years old vineyards of Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) and a small part of Verdejo grapes
The cellar volume is built to receive up to 150.000 kgs of grapes but so far equipped for 100.000 kgs. Stainless steel tanks, French oak barrels different size and age.
We have visited the winery, space to extend the bodega on location is available.
DO Rioja
State of the art landscape-integrated eco winery that controls 80 hectares of Rioja Alta vineyards planted with Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuela and some Viura and Sauvignon Blanc.
Sales never really took off so far and covid has given them a bad time as they are not in retail at all. They have no established brand that goes with their significant investment.
We have visited the winery, a jewel, with a good production team.
DO Somontano – Aragon
Small private property of less than 10 hectares in a small wine region at the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Can be an important location provided there is more land available nearby.
Somontano is one of the youngest DO’s of Spain, cool-climate and definitely an option in a future perspective, as a next year investment.
We are now researching how much extra land can be acquired in the immediate vicinity in the short term.
DO Priorat – Catalunya
Beautiful property in one of Spain´s most desired areas. Production of 70-80.000 bottles annually with a real perspective to expand the current production. This property focuses on producing top-premium wines mostly in a high price range.
We had planned an appointment with the manager and owner of the property in the first week of February. Due to a Covid situation on their side the appointment was cancelled and re-scheduled for the third week of March.
Meanwhile the General Partner gathers technical information on the possibilities to expand the domain and the relevant price for the latter.
